Unit 12: The Social World of College   This unit focuses on the social dimension of college. The social aspects of college enhance the learning that goes on inside the classroom. Navigating the social aspects and student body diversity of college has a large impact on your academic success.

Unit12 Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this unit, you will be able to: - describe why social interaction is such an important part of the college experience; - develop new friendships on campus; - improve your communication skills for social interactions at all levels: - explain why and how to use online social networking; - balance your schoolwork and social life; - resolve conflicts that may occur in your social interactions; - explain what to do if you experience harassment, including sexual harassment; - describe the many kinds of student diversity found on college campuses; - celebrate the benefits of student diversity for all students; - deal with prejudice and discrimination; and - assess the value of participating in organized campus groups and activities.
