PRDV401: Introduction to Human Resources Management

Unit 4: Full Circle: Employee Life Cycle (Part 3)   In this unit, you will focus on the final four components of the employee life cycle. Understanding the role of HR in development, growth enablement, work-life actualization, and separation of its employees will help you see how the entire process comes full circle.  Performance management is the continuous thread that holds this entire life cycle together.  You will examine how training and development, succession planning and performance management go hand in hand while the employee continues to grow in and with the company.

Upon successful completion of this unit, the student will be able to:

Instructions: Read the chapter introduction as well as Sections 8.1 through 8.5.  Chapter 8 will cover development, growth enablement, and measurement, as well as discussions on work-life balance.  You may want to attempt the Exercises at the end of each section.  This reading will cover topics outlined for sub-subunits 4.1.1-4.1.4.

Instructions: Read the chapter introduction, as well as Sections 10.1-10.3 and  Attempt the exercises at the end of each section.  Chapter 10 will cover measuring employee performance and then communicating these results back to the employee.  This reading will cover the topics outlined in sub-subunits 4.2.1-4.2.3.
